How Gilcraft Boats was created by Gil Allbutt
The Gilcraft name was penned by Ellen Golightly, a maiden aunt of my wife Nancy. She would write to her asking if "The Gilcraft Works" would make her a stool or cupboard. We registered the name and I designed and built more than 200 boats over a 50 year career.
