About reveur

My father Gil Allbutt closed Gilcraft Boats Queenscliff when I was young, so I didn't get a chance to build boats with him then. It was in my 50th year I had my chance to build my own Gilcraft boat with Dad.

I loved the lines and natural timber of the Italian speed boats, so Dad I designed  Reveur (The French word for dream, my wife Lesley-Ann chose for our boat) However bellow the water line is very much a Gilcraft, specially designed to play in Bass Straight and the Rip.

I have retained the Gilcraft name to use in my art and woodwork business. I will always be grateful for the skills Dad taught me but more importantly for how he and Mum showed me how life is done.

great day in reveur
