Sea and Wood were an Art and woodwork exhibition in conjunction with The Cottage by the Sea Queenscliff to rase money for their "Take a break" children's programs.
A special thankyou to the Queenscliffe Maritime Museum for the naming of the boat shed in honour of Gil. Shout out to Rod Nicholson for arranging the new sign.
"As a long time friend of the Allbut family, and in particular Gil himself, it was a big honour that my first task as a newly appointed committee of management member was to prepare and redesign the signs above the boat shed with a dedication in honour of the late legend Gil Allbutt. It will now be called the Gil Allbutt Boat Shed and I know Gil was proud to work with a group of dedicated volunteers spearheading the construction of the shed which has seen many wonderful projects come to life under its roof. I hope I have done him proud. I tired to keep abit of tradition with the signs with a little bit of a modern twist. - Rod Nicholson, Maritime Museum Newsletter
